Percentile Rank
Computed by TRAC based on the per capita rates. A rank of 1 indicates that as compared with all counties in the nation, the number of physicians relative to population ranked in the top one percent. A rank of 100 indicates that the number of physicians relative to population ranked in the bottom one percent, as compared with all counties in the nation.

Top 50 and Bottom 50 County Rankings
Computed by TRAC based on the per capita rates. For the "Top 50" list, a rank of 1 indicates that the number of physicians relative to population ranked highest among all counties. A total of 150 counties had no active physicial recorded in AMA records for 1990. The names of all 150 of these counties are shown on the "Bottom 50" list.
