Lawsuits To Get Info From State Dept. Jump 111% Compared To Last Two Years Under Bush By Craig Bannister
	A new study by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) shows that there were 28% more court complaints (720, up from 562) asking federal judges to force the government to abide by the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) during the last two of the Obama Administration than there were in the last two years of President Bush. The State Department experienced a 111% increase (38, up from 18) in FOIA lawsuits from people and groups seeking information - the most of any government organization. That's well above second highest FOIA lawsuit growth rate of 67% (Agriculture Dept.). The study compares last two years of each administration: Obama (FY 2011 - FY 2012), Bush (FY 2007 - FY 2008).
