A 2010 study by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University indicated that among federal law enforcement agencies only immigration enforcement increased substantially during Obama's tenure, with the result being that "the government deported almost 393,00 people in 2010. The following year, analyzing Justice Department data, TRAC (2011) found that immigration prosecutions had more than doubled from the same period five years earlier.
