Local and state law enforcement agencies have fewer resources dedicated to policing white collar crime, resulting in less reporting to UCR. The federal government—including the FBI, SEC, United States DOJ, and the IRS—have extensive dedicated resources to investigate and prosecute white collar crimes (Bazley, 2008).
