The backlog has doubled since 2021, increasing caseloads to around 4,500 per judge. In the 2012 fiscal year, 207,000 immigration cases were resolved, or 39 percent of all cases. By 2023, the government managed to resolve 670,000 cases, yet because of the surge in its backlog, this represented only 19 percent of all cases.....[citing TRAC data and reports].
