In the United States, notable changes were observed in criminal prosecutions during the pandemic. As depicted in , between February and April 2020, the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC Reports, Citation2020) reported new federal prosecutions dropped by 80% meaning that only 20% of the usual number of prosecutions were taking place. Criminal referrals also dropped by 55% and convictions by 45% in the March of 2020, demonstrating how much of an effect the pandemic had on the adjudicative process.....[Citing TRAC data and research].
