By George Fishman

The Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University (TRAC) reports that at the end of July, the immigration courts had over 2.5 million pending cases (up from about 350,000 10 years earlier). As a consequence, NBC News reported in June that “The average wait time for a case before an immigration court is 1,572 days — that is, 4.3 years — from the time the process reaches the court and until it receives a hearing, TRAC detailed.”
