The average wait time for an asylum case before an immigration court is nearly four years, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University. That’s the average amount of time it takes from when the case is filed until it receives a hearing. There’s currently 2,620,591 pending cases in the immigration court backlog, per TRAC. |
