Legal bordering of asylum through liminality

Immigration attorneys are key to understanding and navigating the intricacies of legal precedent regarding asylum law. In 2023, a private immigration attorney working an asylum case typically charged between $8,000-$15,000 and was often difficult to find. Pro se, or self-represented cases, have significantly less knowledge of the law or access to legal resources. Recent data indicate that the majority of pro se cases are Central American asylum seekers.......[Citing TRAC data and reports].
