Those on the Dedicated Docket with representation were far more likely to be able to file an asylum application, revealing the difficulty of navigating the process without representation. Of Dedicated Docket cases closed by September 2022, 86% of represented cases had filed an asylum application—compared to a dismal 6% of non-represented cases that were able to file an asylum application. Id. Ultimately, only 7% of closed Dedicated Docket cases have been awarded asylum as of September 2022. Id.
