Lawyers struggle to make headway with growing immigrant backlog By Felipe De La Hoz |

According to data maintained by Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, or TRAC, the number of pending cases in the immigration courts has crossed 1.9 million as of the end of September, ballooning from under 1.5 million at the end of fiscal year 2021, which was already double the roughly 750,000 pending at the end of fiscal year 2018. |
