Apprehension and educational outcomes among Hispanic students in the United States: The impact of Secure Communities

A report based on data from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) at Syracuse University shows that sanctuary jurisdictions reduce the odds that undocumented migrants are arrested and deported by ICE. Despite official statements that ICE compensates for this by allocating more resources to communities where local jurisdictions
fail to cooperate, the report does not find that the odds of other arrests, i.e., that are not linked
to SC, are greater in sanctuary versus non-sanctuary jurisdictions
