DOJ’s Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) reports that its immigration judges [IJ] completed 205,164 cases in fiscal year 2022 through July 15 — 260,000 on an annualized basis. According to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University, about one quarter of aliens in removal proceedings are represented by counsel.
