Crimmigration and Pol-ice Reform
By Akiv J. Dawson and Marie C. Jipguep-Akhtar

Data collected by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse consistently show that most removals are for entry without inspection or some other immigration charge, rather than anything related to a criminal charge (terrorism, national security, aggravated felony, or some other criminal charge) (Smith et al., 2021). The overwhelming majority were for traffic offenses. Most people who were deported were delivered through local law enforcement and the Criminal Alien Program Local Incarceration.
