Split BIA Says Faulty Notice Revives Deportation Case

Data published by Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse in July shows an increase in dismissal rates of immigration suits due to DHS' failure to issue timely notice to appear letters. While the university didn't analyze data from Boston's immigration court, where Fernandes' proceedings are taking place, it found that 54% of Houston's immigration cases were tossed due to faulty or missing notices.
