While over 70,000 people were made to wait in Mexico for immigration court hearings by the Trump administration, data published by the Department of Homeland Security shows that only 4,300 people have been returned to Mexico since it restarted following the successful lawsuit filed by Texas and Missouri district court that mandated its enforcement following Biden's attempt to end the program.
Despite Biden's limited use of the remain in Mexico policy, there has nonetheless been an explosion in migrants turned away at the border due to Title 42, according to data from the Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection, and the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University.
