ICE data obtained through FOIA by Syracuse University indicates that Colorado counties may not be fully complying with the state's 2019 law prohibiting the execution of immigration detainer requests by ICE. Of 1,245 detainer requests issued to Colorado law enforcement between October 2019 and June 2020, 471 were not "refused," while data is inconclusive due to ICE recordkeeping for another 538 cases.
