Migrants in Detention Centers Have Increased More Rhan 55 Percent Since Biden Took Office By Alex J. Rouhandeh
	Over 22,000 are being held in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers, according to data collected on October 1 by Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC). This represents a 55.9 percent increase from the over 14,000 reported by TRAC on January 22, shortly after President Joe Biden took office. In its report, TRAC said that over 17,000 (77 percent) of those being held were arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) while nearly 5,000 (23 percent) were apprehended by ICE.
