The data originate from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), which is a
data-gathering, data-research, and data-distribution organization at Syracuse University. TRAC systematically requests these data from the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), a unit within the Department of Justice, under the
