By Emily Furgeson

Indeed in the first six months of his Presidency, Mr Trump received about six to eight death threats a day, according to the director to the US Secret Service. The threats included emails, social media postings and someone reporting a suspicious statement, US Secret Service Director Randolph Alles said. In 2018, arrests for violent threats against high-profile US politicians soared. There were 23 prosecutions for threats against Mr Trump or those in the presidential line of succession in 2018, a 130 percent increase over 2017, when there were 10, according to Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC)
