Ex-Judges Advise Justices On Deportations Over State Crimes

The former judges and members of the Board of Immigration Appeals added that immigration courts already have a backlog of cases and are under pressure from the U.S. Department of Justice to clear that backlog. Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, a nonpartisan data research organization, reported in September that immigration courts have more than a million cases waiting to be processed.
