Abolish ICE . . . and Then What?

The data demonstrate that the most important thing we can do to improve appearance rates in immigration court is to provide lawyers. The most recent publicly available data show that virtually every family who was released from immigration detention and had a lawyer showed up for all of their immigration court hearings (99%). Those without lawyers were significantly less likely to consistently appear (76%).......[Citing TRAC data and research].
