These enforcement priorities also influenced immigration court caseloads, although not enough to change existing backlogs significantly. Following implementation of the Morton and Johnson priorities, between October 2013 and February 2017, 9.9% of immigration court cases were closed based on an exercise of prosecutorial discretion — roughly 67,180 cases total, or the equivalent of about 19,600 per year......[Citing TRAC data and reports].
