Feds nab more than 700 people in NEPA for immigration violations
By Borys Krawczeniuk

Federal agents nabbed more than 700 people in Northeast Pennsylvania for immigration violations from late 2014 through May, immigration arrest data show. However, a local lawyer specializing in immigration defense cases says the numbers are much higher — and rising under President Donald Trump. “No way,” Scranton attorney Tracey Hubbard Rentas said of the 709 arrests in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike and Susquehanna counties from October 2014 through May. The immigration arrests data was collected and tracked by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University.
