Unlike federal district courts, immigration courts like Bloomington have not developed time frames for different types of cases, said Susan Long co-director of the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC),a Syracuse University-based nonpartisan organization. “No one really has a number on how much time that a case should take on on average.”Hearings for people stuck in Minnesota’s immigration court system have been pushed into September 2012. The average wait is 410 days — the 14th longest in the nation, according to TRAC.
