Only 1 parent prosecuted during 1 month of family separations at border
By Spencer Blake

The Trump administration has said all along the "zero tolerance" crackdown is because the adults have to be prosecuted. But new data seems to contradict that. Only one parent arrested at the border with their family was actually referred for prosecution in all of April. The information comes from TRAC Immigration, a records clearinghouse at Syracuse University that gathers info from public records requests. “It just suggests that the reason for separating families was something other than the criminal prosecutions," Arizona State University law professor Angela Banks said.
