New Houston Area Project To Offer Legal Defense For Immigrants Facing Deportation By Elizabeth Trovall |

Deportation Defense Houston will offer free legal counsel and information to immigrants facing deportation. In Texas, less than 30 percent of detained immigrants had legal representation from October 2000 to February 2018, according to the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University. Most immigrants facing deportation are forced to represent themselves in court proceedings, which can dramatically lower their chances of winning their case. |
