Federal court data for the Southern District of Ohio (which includes the southern half of the state and 48 of its 88 counties) show the number of employment civil rights cases – including those alleging sexual harassment – ranges between five to nearly 30.
The Southern District is not among the top 10 districts for employment civil rights cases, according to an analysis of federal court data by Syracuse University's Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse. Roughly 1,000 cases a month are being filed nationally, down 11.5 percent from five years ago.
