Fear of Immigration Enforcement Among Older Latino Immigrants in the United States

According to recent data (Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse,2016),as a category immigrants aged 50 and over account for only 5% of deportations, but in absolute numbers they have numbered between 13,000 and 16,000 annually, and hundreds of these elderly deportees have been age 70 and older. The numbers of older immigrants at risk of deportation because they have unauthorized status in the United States will remain substantial and likely grow as the unauthorized immigrant population of some 11.1 million continues to age. From our theoretical perspective, this population will age with risks to mental health as enforcement becomes (U.S.DHS,2017).......[Citing TRAC research].
