ICE and its contractors have resisted requests and attempts to make detention facility contracts and inspection reports publicly available, which has made it difficult to determine exactly which standards apply to various facilities at this time.
As a result, advocacy groups have been forced to file Freedom of Information Act requests
and sue the government for release of these documents. Our analysis of applicable contract
standards for each facility investigated is based on the most recently available public in formation released as a result of such efforts by the National Immigrant Justice Center and Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).
