Deportation Without Representation The Access-to-Justice Crisis Facing New Jersey's Immigrant Families

As of fiscal year 2015, the average time an immigrant in New Jersey had to wait before his or her first removal hearing was 721 days, or about two years, significantly longer than any other year recorded in the same study, and this wait time appears to be increasing. From 2009 to 2014, more than 3119 asylum applications were filed with the New Jersey Immigration Courts.......[Citing TRAC research].
