A recent report from the Montana Department of Labor and Industry announced the state's unemployment rate reached its lowest point since 2007, at 4.1 percent. An April 21 press release quotes Gov. Steve Bullock praising the economy's "strong start" in 2015.
But another report from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, which analyzed 2013 tax return data, paints a different picture, listing Montana's wages as the 49th lowest in the nation, just above Idaho.
