Massive Backlog of Cases Saddle San Francisco Immigration Court By Stephen Stock and David Paredes |

According to Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC), there are now 441,939 undocumented immigrants with pending cases before the US Immigration Courts. That’s more than two and a half times the number from 2006 when there were 168,827 cases nationally. The backlog in San Francisco’s immigration court has risen dramatically from 8,003 cases in 2007, to 29,890 today. |
