Good news and bad news when it comes to Montana's economy.
Montanans earn the second lowest average wage, just $33,000 based on tax return data compiled by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse.
That's roughly $10,000 less than the national average and a whopping $27,000 less than Connecticut, the state with the highest wages.
But it's not all bad news.
When it comes to our taxes, the Montana government is one of the most efficient in the nation, giving citizens the 18th highest level of service, with the third lowest tax rate.
