Operation Streamline Costs and Consequences

Researchers show estimated annual costs for incarceration for unlawful entry (1325) and re-entry (1326)convictions. The figures were calculated by multiplying the number of convictions by average sentence lengths for each of those offenses. Those figures were then multiplied by the U.S. Marshals per-diem paid. It is assumed
that the U.S. Marshals per diem paid resembles that of the Bureau of Prisons.....[citing TRAC research].
