TRAC-Reports
Civil Filing Information for January 2016
(24 Feb 2016) There were 20,233 new civil court suits filed in federal district courts during the month of January 2016, down 4.3 percent from December 2015. The Southern District of West Virginia (Charleston) led the nation with the largest number of new filings relative to its population. This is largely due to filings in multidistrict litigation cases in that district, most involving pelvic repair products manufactured by Johnson and Johnson's Ethicon unit or Boston Scientific Corp.
