The number of cases awaiting resolution before the Immigration Courts reached a new all time high of 247,922 matters by the middle of June 2010, according to an analysis of very timely court data by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC).
The case backlog has continued to grow -- up 2.1 percent -- since TRAC's last report three months ago, a third higher (33.1%) than levels at the end of FY 2008. The average length of time cases have been waiting has increased to 459 days.
