Federal Spending Cooled Off in FY 2005
(27 Nov 2007) The Federal Funds information in the TRACFED Data Warehouse has been updated through the end of FY 2005, the most recent data available from the U.S. Census Department's consolidated federal funds reporting program. While overall spending in FY 2005 reached a new high of nearly 2.3 trillion dollars, per capita spending has nearly leveled off, increasing only 0.4 percent in constant dollars over the previous year.

Access to the TRACFED Data Warehouse is by subscription only. Subscribers can use the Express tool in the Federal Funds (or "Money") layer to:

- access 13 years of detailed expenditures data for each state, federal district, and county in the nation

- examine spending by agency, spending program, or expenditure type

- generate total amounts, inflation adjusted totals, or per capita amounts

- analyze spending trends or generate rankings to compare states, districts, or counties.
