We've just updated our Bulletins page with the latest federal criminal enforcement data from the Justice Department.
http://trac.syr.edu/tracreports/bulletins/ Among the observations that can be made from the new December 2006 data: measured in per-capita terms, Wyoming led all districts in federal drug and weapons convictions. For that month, Wyoming ranked first among judicial districts with more than six times the conviction rate for the U.S. as a whole in narcotics/drugs, and nearly 20 times the national rate for weapons convictions. For more reports on the latest enforcement trends, go to: http://trac.syr.edu/tracreports/bulletins/ In addition to weapons and narcotics/drugs, you will also find reports on federal criminal prosecutions and convictions in the following areas: terrorism, white collar crime, immigration, civil rights, environment, official corruption, organized crime, child pornography and government regulation. TRAC continues to offer very detailed summary reports about individual cases for a modest fee. Each summary report includes information about the investigative agency involved, the lead charge and other charges brought, the names of the federal prosecutor and judge, significant events, and much more. December 2006 criminal data are also available to TRACFED subscription users via the Express and Analyzer tools. For more information, go to http://tracfed.syr.edu .
