Get illegal guns off our streets

According to a Syracuse University think tank, for each of the past six years, federal prosecutions initiated by ATF have declined as compared with the year before. One of the reasons may be the Senate’s refusal since 2006 to confirm a permanent director for the agency.
The federal role is crucial in keeping handguns off our streets. According to ATF’s own figures, a large percentage of illegal handguns cross state lines before being seized by law enforcement.
