Instead, his executive orders have created more detainees and further strained federal immigration courts, which reached an all-time high of 667,839 pending cases at the end of December, according to Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse. Of the 100 counties with the largest backlogs, 19 were in California. |
