By Mike McGraw

According to data obtained by NPR, OSHA has referred 150 workplace fatality cases nationwide for criminal prosecution since 1986. The data, from the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University, shows that U.S. attorneys declined to prosecute 95 of those referrals. In the remaining 55 cases, federal prosecutors won convictions in 43.
